I have this Yamaha XS400 for sale.

Runs ok, 12 month MOT, electronic ignition (aftermarket), goes, stops
even has working indicators (unusual for me) but no tax (not unusual).

    http://www.sweller.dynalias.org/fsyamxs400/

Could be described as: "A parallel twin just like a classic Triumph"
    probably best described as "disposable".

I'm looking in the region of £465

Heh. It's a 1970s Japanese SOTwin - TOG will be around in a flash to
    buy it.

  4. Cor, that's a smart petrol tank on it.

    Looks like the elastic's broke.

    sweller says...
If that front mudguard is the original one and in good rechromeable
condition, then take it off now and put it on eBay as an RD250/400 one
(same bit). Stick a pattern one on, they cost about 25 notes new.

You'll probably get about 80 quid for the original.

It's a particularly unpleasant universal one.

So my dreams of ebay related riches will have to be put on hold.

Now this is good advice. The best thing that can otherwise be said is that
the XS400 isn't quite as slow as the XS250.

I wouldn't have been so unkind if Sweller hadn't compared it to a Triumph,
which pisses all over it in every respect I can think of, including parts
    availability.

Oh, and my write up was glowing about it: "probably best described as
    'disposable'."

Refreshingly honest. I'd rather own an ETZ 250.

Kin ain't either, I had one of those doing a grand job of keeping up
while filtering through mils and miles and miles of standing traffic
that was Southern Essex today. A bit embarrassing actually as he was
carrying pillion too. I had him on the open road though. I do like the
bindit roars from tickover to flat out in third I really do. Sort of
    addictive it is.
