Interested in motorized projects - I've been doing a lot of jetskis
these days, particularly stand-ups.

Original OEM graphics. Over $1k in mods:
Bills pipe and silencer
Full racetech suspension - revalved and springs
Setup for 200lb rider
Pro Taper bars
WER Steering stablizer ($350)
Upgraded triple clamp for the bars
Recent front sproket.
Recent Tires
Pro Taper handguards (not in photo)
9oz flywheel weight

2000 Model CR250.
Bought "new" off showroom floor in 2002. Modified and raced for one
season, replaced with 2003 CR250. I'm the 2nd owner and the bike came
to me in amazing shape.

I'm a trail rider and bought this to fart around with on the trails.
Because of it's gearing and a hard hitting powerband, it's an "OK"
trail bike.
This bike is very tight, everything is in great shape - it's extremely
well maintained and garage kept. There are 15 hours on the top end.
It does not need bearings or handguards, anything like that.
I've turned down offers of $2k on this thing and value it at
approximately $2200.

I've checked the charter for tx.motorcycles and haven't found any prohibition for posting motorcycle forsale content.
In fact, there doesn't seem to be a charter at all, even though one has been discussed.

Actually, there is. There is a common structure among ALL regional
newsgroups. If there is a forsale group, forsale posts go there. If
there is a .wanted group, "Wanted" posts go there. If there is a jobs
group, Job posts go there. It's quite common and has been for
decades.

Again, see above. The regional setup is the same for .tx as it is for
any other regional. When a specific group is created, post that

As someone who runs a USENet server, I only partially agree. The
rules are there for a reason. Allow your advert, why not allow one
for parts? Allow one for parts, why not ad-ons, jackets, gloves,
stickers. Allow jackets, why not other forms of clothing. Allow
forms of clothing, why not garage sales?

I thought that perhaps you thought my post was some type of large scale spam
which would have explained the complaint... Apparently not. Obviously you
found something about my post bothersome enough to at least do an IP lookup

Takes seconds to look at your headers. Hardly an effort.

Typically newsgroups that accept binary posts have "binary" in their name or
a specific charter. My guess is that you'd claim the same thing in regard
to newsgroups - that "fs" in the newsgroup name means that it's OK to post
classifieds, otherwise not... I'd disagree with that, especially for
newsgroups that are rather interest and geography specific.

I know it's generally not accepted in tx.motorcycles to post binaries, even
in the absence of a charter. I've seen complaints to that effect. There is
also a "reason" for this rule - or at least there was - back in the old days
of slow modems. I fail to see the "irony" here. I'm willing to discuss
irony, but would prefer to do that privately if you so choose. Please take
me up on that request if the conformity of the newsgroup is really what
you're after.

Experience reading and posting to tx.motorcycles leads me to believe that FS
postings are OK as long as they're not spam and pertain to motorcycles in
Texas.
Perhaps I've lead myself astray again, so I'll listen to your polite and
friendly advice.

Gary, I'm not trying to hide here. My posts tend to vary in regard domain
of origin. I'm sure you are aware that an ISP in RI doesn't mean that I'm
located in RI.

group that bothered you - so you looked up to make sure I was in the area.
When you saw that the provider was in RI, you posted as such - and indicated
the geography. I've reviewed enough of your posts to know that you've
