I would have thought _he_ decided against it - ?

Anyhow - the rest of the thread (Plan A) discusses various modern bikes,
so I assume alternatives to an R100RS is no longer an option. Having
just got my hands on a K75 with an R-RS fairing, it seems to me like a
good combination if the focus is on weather protection, smoothness,
economy, longevity, touring comfort etc. In a way a K1100LT "light"?

I've fucked my back up in an almost Bear-esque manner and according to the
medicals not more than 5mm in 20 years.

I expect it's all downhill from here though. One does wonder what activities
    might help/hinder the process.

A year ago I was down to 6'.5" from what I'd always quoted as 6'2".
This was clearly related to my back not being straight, and at the
time I was physically unable to lie flat on my back with my head
touching the ground. Since then I've been more conscious of my stance
and have been trying to stand up straighter and lie flatter whenever
    possible.

As a result, or perhaps just coincidentally, I've grown again, by
almost an inch, when measured on a good day. But it's noticeable how,
when I'm suffering a lot and my back's all tense and painful, I'm
shorter than when it's all relaxed and easy.

Will the shrinkage have affected his legs or is it just the back?
