Genuine too - although it's had a first o/s rebore. When I stripped it
prior to the Frankfurt run it had a brand new piston with no carbon
deposits; which was a surprise given I bought it as a non runner and it
hadn't turned a wheel in the seven years in my care. All other engine
internals matched a very low mileage; original factory crankcase sealant.

It's also had the forks rebuilt; rear shocks stripped and rebuilt; all
wheel bearings repacked; new brake shoes; decent brand tyres (Continental
and Michelin IIRC); electrics sorted; fuse box mod and everything else
    stripped and cleaned.

Rebore with 7k miles on it? Why?
Nice, sounds like you went right through it, bit by bit to get it right.

    PO was a twat?
(over advanced ignition will quickly cause a two stoke to seize its top
    end)
As Germany was calling I wasn't going on a machine that had been
festering in my lockup for seven years without being fairly confident of
    its condition.

Or the PO may have forgotton to add two stroke or misjudged.
Certainly seems good for £250 ish

Lack of two stroke generally kills the bottom end first. If they'd put
too much in that may lean the mixture enough to seize the top end.

It runs at 33:1, which is getting to the "shame to put petrol in" end of
the scale, so I'd expect the points shifted and the PO didn't notice/care
    it was pinking to ****.
