    For Sale:

    1979 MZ TS 250/1 Supa 5
12 months MOT even has some tax (gasp!) Nov 04. Make a good honest and
    surprisingly shiny hack - £385

Pictures (on the end of my cable connection, so maybe a bit slow):

I had posted this in 'another place' then realised that perhaps some here
    in ukrm.c might be interested.

I've got some fairly unmarked fork stanchions that I can swap over to
replace the ones on it that are a bit more obviously marked than I first
realised. If you want to me to swap them over I'm sure we can come to
    some arrangement
    ..

Believe me, you don't want one.

I mean, I love my little MZ, but it's more than a tad underpowered for
anything more than running a few miles to the shops and back.

Not being funny or anything, but at your size, you'd soon find it
    frustrating to ride.

    Don't be too sure....
    all a matter of perspective
    see above.

While its nice to be able to dial in Warp 6 and engage - its also nice
to play and pootle, allowing one to enjoy the scenery more and worry
less about going into corners too fast (as an example).

I may even put the B40 back together, rather than ebay it......

Crikey, you must ride in a funny way if you find the MZ only usable as a
    shopping moped.

They are quite capable of fair distance commuting. For a while I did
120 miles each way on a first generation ETZ 250.

    This one, as it happens:
    http://www.mztech.fsnet.co.uk/images/slvr_etz.jpg

They'll cruise quite happily at 70 - 75 with a maximum speed of "the
diamond thing". More so your 300.

Motorways are a bit dull but they're quite at home on A roads. Nice
    handling machines and very "chuckable".

Not sure about the disc warping statement; never had a problem with any
of my ETZs. Although it does have the later type disc.

I'd take a closer look at it as it seems to have been afflicted by matt
black syndrome. If that's all well and you get it for less than £300
    it'll be a nice commuter.

If you do want a later MZ join the MZRC (although I'm not a member and
haven't been for some time) as they usually have a good, reasonably
    priced, selection in the classifieds.

I've just noticed it hasn't an MOT - £50 tops.

    Bollocks! To put it nicely.

I`m quite a lard-arse myself, which makes my CB200 even more lethargic than
a usual CB200, which is hardly a powerful crotch-rocket anyway.

Still, it`s bags of fun around country lanes as well as around town. Not
having to worry about excess speed is one of many bonuses. Also, as you know
it`s not going to do silly acceleration or speeds, you can have a good look
around you instead as you go.

Accept it`s not going anywhere fast, and enjoy.

Low-speed, low cc touring. It`s the new black. Or something.)
