glitch1, I may be living in hole but I didn't know that international bike
share arrangements could be done. As long as the bikes are comparative it
seems like a great idea at first glance. Something to look into.

Shells

 

Had people here from US, Canada, UK, Austria, NZ.
Some became good friends, still in contact with all of them.
Had a great, month-long, bike-ride through the European Alps in 2001.
All that on trust alone and so far it all worked out fine without a hitch.

Great concept, 2006 we'll be in US/Canada for 6 weeks, picking up a couple
of Beemers in Florida, return them to their owners in Canada 6 weeks later
(they have their holidays before us, riding the bikes down to Florida
(swapping with us after servicing and flying home themselves).
