FS: Kawasaki Z200

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, Aug 28, 2004.

  1. I have got to clear some space at the Chateau, so....

1981 W reg Z200, in original period orange (paintwork in extraordinarily
good condition). About 13000 miles from new.

Pattern silencer, otherwise all original. Engine recently overhauled,
electric start persuaded to work again, oil change, timing, tappets,
plug, oil filter, all electrics working AOK, new battery, new left-hand
switchgear, seat renovated (crack in pan welded up, and new cover
fitted), new switchgear left and right, brand new fork stanchions (not
fitted yet - the old ones are pitted above the bearing surface but
    aren't leaking).

Chrome in damn good condition, really. Very, very little rust.

    Undinged, scrawped, mangled.

Tyres are probably legal but you may want to change them anyway.

Lots of spares thrown in for free - clocks, odds & sods. There's also a
whole semi-stripped engine if you want for an extra 20 quid.

SW London area. ukp300. Or it goes on Ebay.

It's old, it's slow and you already have a slow old bike.

Is this still going? How much work, if any, would be required to get
    it through an MOT?

I'm hatching a plan for a 7R or similar, in which case I'll need a
cheap runabout for days when the 7R won't be out to play...

  12. It's still for sale, yeah. For an MoT.... notalot. Could use new tyres:
the old ones have tread and are black arnd round, but are, um, old.

Forks are off it right now having the new stanchions fitted, but
    obviously they'll be replaced!

Muck and Jeremy have seen it, as have others. It's a nice Z200.
