Is it considered OK to promote a bike related item I have FS on Ebay via this newsgroup? Mark
Ebay apparently has a policy about this sort of question. http://pages.ebay.com/help/newtoebay/usenet-policy.html HTH -- Greybeard FLHRCI -01 UK ( 95 cu-in Stg 2. Big Boy!) Trumpet Trophy 1200 -91, for rainy days nntp@foxtails[dot]co[dot]uk
In uk.rec.motorcycles, Greybeard amazed us all with this pearl of wisdom: "eBay users may not post on Usenet groups (Internet newsgroups) to advertise eBay or an eBay listing that is inappropriate or violates the Usenet board policy." ICBW, but I'm sure the charter says it's ok as long as it's a private (as in individual) advert and advertises motorbike related shit. But hey, fucking shoot me down in flames if I'm wrong
Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Mark Be aware that should your listing contain "L@@K!" or "R@RE!", a crack team of UKRM commandos will hunt you down and be rude to you. Also be aware that if you've bought or sold anything amusing in the last few months we *will* laugh at you. Lots. -- Wicked Uncle Nigel - "Oh Bollocks" said Pooh, having forgotten his lines. Or pornographic, militant, weird, nerdy etc etc etc... eBay wont give a shit about bike related stuff going on a bike related newsgroup, so no worried there. The group wont mind as long as you don't e-mail everyone privately or relist it every 20 minutes with the title "AMAZING BARGAIN" on it. There's always someone who complains about everything, just ignore them...
