Posted on behalf of Pater, who has just upgraded his offical 'town bike' to a VF500F. 1980 W reg Honda Superdream 250 in red. 26k from new. Plenty of service history, including a receipt for £382 in 2007 for a complete top end rebuild, and another from 2006 for £220 for a new set of downpipes and a chain and sprocket set. The bike also has had the collector box, shocks and chain and sprockets replaced, as well as being shod with a set of Pirellis in recent times. Net result is the bike rides very well (1) and wants for nothing. MOT'ed and taxed until September 2009. £450 - located in Kent. Pics will be available later in the week. Jack, if it's really clean, original paint, and so forth, you do realise that you're underpricing this by at least £200 and quite probably more? Sounds crazy, but really good condition 250Ns are making £600-700.

That's stupid. No way is it worth three grand. I could see someone paying close to two grand for it, though.
*shrug* It's what he's asked for it. <thinks of negs> Hmmm... from memory, the headlight rim is a bit rusty - cheap enough to replace I should think. And, ah yes... the key for the steering lock is missing. However, my local locksmith will make one up for a tenner if I whip the lock off the bike. I think he's just going by what he's seen other Superdreams fetch on eBay of late. Anyway... he's said £450, and I reckon it's worth that all day long - not my cup of tea, but I can understand why some perverts out there like them. I'm actually away on holiday this week, so I'll get some pictures sorted when I'm back at the weekend, and I'll go over it with a fine tooth comb at the same time to make sure it's all as it should be. Fairly basic-condition ones (you know, maybe non standard paint and a Motad exhaust) go for this, but really good original ones fetch more. Well, if that's all he wants for it, then I'd be interested in it at that money. First refusal?
