Brand new unused early cbr 600 carbs KEIHIN. 190GBP
Has any one ever been to a main dealers parts-counter? Is auto jumble a way of life? These carbs cost a lot more than 50 quid. Honest.
Yes. However, anyone who bought carbs from a dealer would need his head examined Look, the one bit of a bike that will survive an accident is the carbs. The one bit of a bike that doesn't wear out (until you start talking about 20+ years) is the carbs. Breakers are *full* of banks of carbs. I had a set of ZX7R carbs on ebay the other day. Opening price was 10 pounds. I got *one* bid , for the tenner, in 6 days. Eventually I pulled the auction cos I've decided to keep them and sell the racespec flatslides I have instead - now those *are* worth money.
I've been trawling ebay for a CBR airbox recently - they're the other thing that never gets damaged or wears out, obviously. In the course of my searches and watches, I saw an awful lot of CBR carbs, ranging from early to late fitments, brand new to well-used. None of them went for what you might think was sensible money, lots for a tenner or twenty quid, none for more than 50. QED.
Only QED if he can't sell them. There is always a mug somewhere (and sometimes it's me) ps. No Dave, I don't need any CBR carbs thanks.
I have lots of brand new bits of obsolete computers. Hopefully I'll be off to the Caribbean for a few months soon.
Cool, send me a list ;-) hint: If anyone wants a 4Mb DIMM for a thinkpad 701, I have one And some 14.4 PCMCIA Modems And a 386SX And a 32Mb DIMM for a DEC Alphastation the list continues (ad infinitum) ... P.
Watching a sat programme on the TV in 2002[1] about Jap motorbikes the price that Honda[2] pay for a complete set of carbs ready to bolt on their (current at the time of making the film) 1000cc sports bike was $35US. [1] Was at the old house looking at the Hot Bird sats not Astra. [2] I think it was Honda it could have been Suzuki.
