FS: Honda CB500S 33bhp

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, Mar 10, 2006.

  1. Sort of dropped into my lap.

Very nice nick, all told. 1996/N. Fitted with a 33bhp restrictor kit
(and all the paperwork for it) which apparently consists of a pair of
    washers and that's it.

    Immobiliser, flyscreen.

    35,000 miles.

    New MoT.

    Black.

£700 before it goes on Ebay on Sunday.

Previous owner was young Plod (so it'll have been thrashed to hell and
    back, then).

    SW London area.

What is it about you and Honda 500 twins?

Gah, if this had been in a months time, you could have considered this sold.

And if he'd had it a month ago SeanH would have grabbed it.

  6. Deferred payment? Easy terms? Finance arranged? Not easy to find, 33bhp
Honda CB500s. And if you want a full power one, it's a piece of piss to
    liberate it.

How good / bad, is the exhaust - the standard ones on these tend to rot like
    buggery.

    Got any pictures, Mister?

If so, the addy in the headers is unmunged.

  8. It looks like a stainless steel replacement with a black end can and
    it's in excellent nick.
I'm taking some today for Ebay porpoises.

Sounds like TOGs one has a decent exhaust.

I was going to look for an old CBR600 next month but this sounds, given my
scenic route to work, like it would be a half decent alternative.

Did my test on one - seemed to go alright for what it was. No idea how good
/ bad the economy is though.

When we've hired one in Portugal, I worked out that it was getting
nearly 50mpg even 2-up.... which meant it spent a lot of it's time close
to the redline to maintain some sort of forward momentum.

Don't you think it might have difficulty getting you out of corners,

    Cheeky ****.

I was this sort of weight when I did my test, and that one managed fine.

  15. It does. It also has an immobiliser (Makes Sign Of The Cross)[1], a
nifty little flyscreen and mini indicators.

[1] As opposed to Sign Of The Bloody Furious.
