    Or more accurately a SUCKER!!
Kelly shows this bike as 'Trade-In Value (Good Condition)' at $7355
and even retail on it is just $10560.

And about the same on NADA.com/

So, your reserve is just under full RETAIL!!! What a hell of a deal!!

Does that include the windshield and the hard bags ?

I have $13,250 in this bike this year. If someone want to save $3,000
over a brand new Valk (getting hard to find) with a honda windshield
and a set of hard bags, I've got their bike.

    Thanks,
    Lynn

Yup, that may be true. However, I will have to box the windshield
and hard bags to sell them. And, of course, I threw away the boxes
that they were shipped to me in. So, I would have to create new boxes
    for these unusually shaped items.

    Thanks,

Stuff is worth what somebody is willing to pay, no more or no less. Good
Stuff is worth what someone is willing to sell it for and what someone
is willing to pay for it. It is a combination of the two.

Being in the software business selling $10,000 software has convinced
me of this. You wouldnt believe what people have insulted me with
    over the years.

Lots of people do, and it works out quite well. I know about three
people that have bought some type of vehicle through e-bay and have
been very happy with the results.

Lynn, how come you're selling your Valkyrie? You just bought it a few
months ago, right, and had nothing but praise.

    Just curious.

Lynn, how come you're selling your Valkyrie? You just bought it a few
$240 per month payment plus $40 per month insurance = $280 per
month that I really cannot afford right now. I have gotten myself into
the trap of spending more than I make. So, I am trying to cut
expenses wherever I can. I thought that I was going to make more
money this year but that venture did not pan out.

The Valk is a great bike ! It is just a luxury for now. Maybe in another
5 years (after I get #2 kid out of college).

    Thanks,
    Lynn

HUH ? What does a Union have to do with licensed distributors not selling a
product to unlicensed installers ? There is no connection there, at all.. If
you want to start a "Union" thread, go for it .. I'm sure there are enough
card carrying bikers to engage on the merits of unionism.. No wonder you
have so many problems with "code enforcement" authority.. LOL..

Most of the vehicles that we drive are being assembled by union members..
Many of our commercial buildings that we frequent are being built under the
guidelines of "code enforcement" to ensure YOUR safety.. Wanna do away with
"code enforcement" and "unions".. ?? Bet you wouldn't like the results of
    that, for very long..LOL..

You can do what you want with your property "within reason".. When that
"reason" encroaches or is in violation of Building Codes, then .. you have a
separate issue.. For example, you can't install a booby trap on your lawn to
prevent trespass.. Anything that you do that would endanger someone, and is
contrary building codes for residencies isn't allowed, and should not be
    allowed..

    If I want to
Home Depot and Lowes sell the material and you should be able to buy it
there... The registers and grilles are sold in HVAC outlets .. A liciense
isn't required to purchase those items.. As you pointed out, there is always
    e-bay..

    2 - Texas is a right to
That is exactly right.. That isn't an issue.. There are certain items of
work that require a license.. Electical work.. HVAC and refreigeration,
Plumbing, etc..Those are considered technical trades and could be very
dangerous if permitted to be performed by amateurs..Or do it yourselfers..

    I should be
Why can't you buy it..?? Any of the items you have mentioned can be
    purchased.. for a price..
Telephones wouldn't be considered life threatening like electrical work or
refrigeration or gas line work.. Now would they... ??
Many automobiles are not built by union workers.. That is only an example..
Your anti-union bias caused me to use it as an example.. Chances are, the
automobile that you and your wife drive is assembled by union labor...

Little as you may think about it, most and that includes professions as
well, are represented by some form of organization... Architects, Engineers,
Attorneys, etc.. Law enforcement has it's organizations to represent them..
School Teachers .. government workers .. etc.. Many of us are represented
and all of us benefit from that representation.. no matter how indirectly..

I dunno, I feel my blood pressure increase to dangerous levels
everytime I read my telephone statement, through it's extremely
    unnecessary complexity.

    Howdy Lynn,

I just bought a 2003 Valkyrie through eBay last month. Found one still in
the box in Missouri for $9k. Didn't pay TT&L in MO because it was an
internet purchase. They just sent me home with a receipt and MSO. I do
believe this was an exception. (un-usual deal)

I LOVE riding this bike. I've had it for a month now and put 1,100 miles on
it already. I'm needing bags for sure. Not sure whether I want the
windshield yet or not. Something about the unrestricted feeling I'm enjoying
still. I have been reading pros and cons about it. I would consider one if
the price was right. I'm not looking for something free.
What windshield and bags does it have? Are you considering selling the
windshield and bags separate? What kind of prices would you be asking for
    them?

BTW, where are you getting insurance? I'm paying $320 a year through
    progressive.

Congrats on the excellent price ! I did not have to pay TT&L in OK but
I did pay TT&L here in Texas. You have to pay sales tax here in Texas
    in order to register it.
I may consider selling the bags and windshield separate but I would
to decide to sell them seperate. Here is the windshield and bags on
    the bike: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2493024740

Here are the bags that I have:
    http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/valkyrie/product.asp?pid=536&ID=510154530

You need this mounting kit for the bags:
    http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/valkyrie/product.asp?pid=537&ID=510154530

Here is the windshield that I have:
    http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/valkyrie/product.asp?pid=249&ID=510154530

If I do not get $10,500 for the bike plus acc. then I am going to wait
until spring to sell it, if then.
Progressive. $480 with collision and comp. I live right outside Houston
so I suspect my rate is higher than average for the state.

    Thanks,
    Lynn

Nope. Not at all. I got one for my last purchase too. When registering
it in my home state, the clerk at DPS asked for the Mfgr's Certificate
of Origin before I could offer it to her. They know the drill. Dealers
and small volume ("hobbiest") resellers do it all the time.
