So do I, I'm fed up with mine. Sending pointless crap to even more
pointless people so pointless children can learn to play pointless music
    extremely badly - enough, already.
I'm very happy with my Bandit 1200. However, after the ride back home
on Sunday, I'm beginning to see the point in fairings.

100mph in that wind was, errrr... an interesting experience for my neck
    muscles.

It's a thought, but not one I can quite afford just yet.

You should charge more for your services. You know what I mean?

Almost all work is pointless. Even people who do stuff that is, on
the surface, "worthwhile" (e.g. doctors) get bored with the
never-ending repetition. Enjoy the bits you can, deal with the rest.

Charging for things implies an SLA to go with it.

    Best Effort rocks. For now.

It's worth noting "Best" can legally get you in the shit if you promise
it on paper, it means you should sacrifice everything else, at the
    expense of that particular effort.

That'd be cool if you're serious.
If you can take say 1000 quid for the 750, which you probably can't.

Should have put a smiley at the end I was half joking, half hoping. I
did mention it and was greeted with a non commital grunt, which I took
    as a positive sign.

But in reality it ain't going to happen I don't think. Well unless I can
add another 5k onto our remortgage without her noticing :)
Hmm there lies the problem :). If it was only worth that I'd keep it.

    heh, no probs.
It's worth more than that, but that's all I'd be able to afford to
    give you for it.

I reckon selling it private would get you 2.5k

Yep, not that I'm selling at the moment anyway. I've no need to. The
last "gremlin" has been ironed out, it was in the pouring rain for about
4 hours yesterday and ran fine all the way home.

Best of luck selling yours BTW. Are you just quitting your job and then
looking for something else? As discussed at Donington things are picking
up. I had another phonecall at the weekend about something which
unfortunately doesn't match my current "skill" set or package.

    Don't know C# do you?

Almost all IT stuff certainly. Apart from the bits that allow me
access to news, email and the net - they are essential.
Hmmm, not sure I'd agree with that, but I haven't had a proper think
yet, just got in and about to go out again.
These are the best bunch of people I've ever worked with. I'm still
not sure if they are saints or complete loonies though.
They've not appointed from the last lot of interviews (apparently
because Mr Bossman didn't think any of them we're as good as me, which
is flattering) which means they are re advertising, which means
instead of another 4 weeks in post, I'm looking at 12 weeks. I need to
have a long hard think about this. Don't want to let them down but not
sure how to cope with the emotional side of the job.

Glad you finally got that sorted.
Unless something amazing happens to my current company, then yeah. As
well as looking at the moment.
I know Java inside out, by all accounts the differences between that
and C# are minimal and it's easily picked up.
