FS: Fazer 600

Due to an overbearing desire to get myself into more trouble on a bike, more
quickly, I'm putting my Fazer up for sale.

I bought this recently off of another UKRM'er, and I've found it a very
agreeable bike... the decision to sell on again so quickly, is one purely
based upon me realising 600s overall, just don't do it for me any more - so
I'm looking to buy a CBR1000 in the immediate future, with this having to
    make way for that.

    So in short:

1998 S reg Yamaha Fazer FZS600 in Silver.

MOT'ed until March 2006, and I stuck a years tax on it, last weekend.

It has heated grips... what's more, they actually work.

It also has a certificated Datatool Veto+ Alarm / Immobiliser, complete with
both pads (one needs a new battery).

The tyres have loads of tread left and are a matched pair of Avon Azaros,
and the chain and sprockets have loads of adjustment left.

Apparently it had the headraces and fork oil replaced, and Carbon Lorraine
    front pads over the winter.

The headlight, not being its best point, has had the common wiring mod
carried out, to get both lights on at the same time, net result being the
dipped beam is now quite reasonable.

It has also had replacement downpipes, and a new 'Wolf' end can, within the
last year, which has a removable BS approved baffle in it for those of you
who fancy doing noisy trackdays, as well as remaining mildly legal on the
road - having said all that, it's louder than a standard Fazer, and sounds
    quite nice.

The only downside as such, is the previous owner had a low speed spill on
it, last year - net result being that it has a bit of fairing damage, and
the fairing brace could do with a decent tug (as could we all), to get it
back inline with the rest of the bike. That, and a small dent in the tank,
and a minor scratch on the OSR panel.

The wheel alignment is spot on, and it always starts first time, every time,
with no nasty taps or rattles from the engine, even though it's covered 41k
    to date.

It really is a nice bike to ride... much nicer than I was expecting in terms
of something to go scratching on... it literally comes down to me wanting
something more barge like and grunty, (something I had been feeling for
sometime before I bought this, this just reaffirmed it), as to why it's for
    sale.

I also have a shedload of receipts etc., which go back quite way into its
past, to back up the obvious, as in it's obviously been well looked after
    and serviced.

Price is £1000, no offers, which is what I paid for it (and I've since taxed
it), and given the time of year, is a more than fair price for something
that doesn't need any work or parts, unless a couple of cracks in the
    fairing bother you *that* much.

Located in Kent, the email addy is unmunged if anyone wants to hurl abuse /
    express any interest in it!

    TIA

before you get your hopes up! :p

Two are in the frame at the mo... one a phase two style 1993, the other, the
later shape 1994... I actually prefer the former styling, tbh.

That's the slightly later but similar looking one to mine.

Removing the baffles'll give you a noticable bit of extra shove too.

I did listen to you saying you were going to keep it the way God
    intended btw.

Oh, and yer sigsep's fucked :)

    You're too kind ;)

Quite a lot of the paint is flaking/wearing/peeling off and I'm not sure
if I want to let it continue, hose off and respray or go the
streetfighter route. I've seen some lush clocks and I was going to ask
if you could fashion a bit of ally with holes for LEDs to replace the
standard idiot light strip that houses the indicator, oil and sidestand
    lights etc.

By Christ, that's true. You may recall the tale of me getting taken off
by a bus a few weeks ago... The bike was wedged underneath. Had it not
been for the design, I am sure I'd have been gutted, looking at an
almost certain write off (could it be classed as a write off now?), as
it was, I got hold of the back, dragged it out into the road and hoisted
it back to vertical, slung me leg over (like you do ;o)), thumbed the
starter and after a bit of coaxing due to flooding, I was away.

I can honestly say it doesn't look any different except for the bit of
white on the crank case crash guard where the paint got etched off.

It's like when you drive into a sheep or similar, and the
grille/radiator/bonnet etc are all stoved in, the engine's shoved back off
its mountings, and the wretched creature just gets up, shakes itself, and
wanders off as if nothing has happened.

    Bastard creatures.

My mate hit a seagull in Brighton, I laughed so fucking hard as the
feathers flew. It did break his radiator grille and bizarrely, when we
got back we found a dead pigeon behind it with its neck broken.
