    Hey folks,

it's been a long time and I've missed having the XX around lately. Oh well,
at least I'm back on the pushbikes a bit so maybe I'll be a bit fitter for
it. Those hills are buggers though.

Anway, apologies for this blatant spam on my part. I'm ebaying my E36 320i
sedan and hope it is of interest to someone here. I'm also mailing aus.cars
so same applies to you guys.

It's item #130275974602 and it is a lot of car for the $$. Those of you who
know me will agree that I've lavished on this car as I have my other cars
and motorbikes. It does have high kays but these are mostly from my love of
long trips. This car will just keep going if you look after it and still
drives better than every damned new hire car (in the med/large sedan size)
I've hired (and I hire them weekly with my work). Lovely handling and
    looks.

So it is a lot of car for not much money and if you decide to buy it, a. you
will not be disappointed and b. I'll throw in a few cases of 'fancy' beers
for Chrissy... :) Just mention aus.moto (or aus.cars). Such a spamming
    bitch....

    Cheers,
    Dave E (Sydney)

I'd suggest we confine test messages and general griping to the optusnet.*
newsgroups. Not everyone here is going to appreciate numerous messages
    whinging about optusnet.

Gee, have there been a few then? I wouldn't know - my effing optusnet has
been mucking up for about a week now. I'd gone back to it because I kept
getting weirdness from aioe as well.... so for the last week have had a
helluva time getting ANYTHING! At work I went through google groups but
found them annoying as well... and was starting to despair of ever getting
    my aus.moto back *sniffle*

Hey dude - yes Optus is a PITA, that's for sure. I've reposted using Goggle
Groups but not sure if that's much better to be honest, so apologies for a
double post. How hard can it be, honestly!

Anyway, thanks for the kind words - still alive and kicking here and getting
married in Feb. We're going great guns and are getting more into 4wd, mud,
camping stuff lately. How about yourself?

    Cheers,

Mate, your timing is rotten. I've just spent about that much
money on sprucing up the mighty SSS! Would have seriously
considered downgrading to a beemer too! :)

    Beer? It's been a while!

  9. Hi David.

So you did actually sell the Blackbird....

the BM is on the block,

I assume you still have the other german missile?

Have you told your bride to be that you are a closet bikie?
(hint:- it's easier if you have a bike when you get married, rather
than trying to explain, later, why you need a bike.)

Hope you are doing good, all you wish yourself for the New Year.

    Hi there Burnie,

I don't think so - we met exactly 1 year ago today and in Feb we'll be
married. There is a chance you'll meet her - recently we purchased an
'03 GV with very low kays, immaculate with an aluminium bar, Coopers
ATRs and slightly lifted suspension. Completely happy with this
vehicle and took it for a quick muddy drive through the Watagans last
weekend. So that's our bush bashing machine - going to be fun.

How's life in your department mate? Still camping a bit? I've been
catching up with Mr Rossiter lately and we could join the club and get
stuck into some driver training for Rochelle and some camping fun one
    of these days.

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Hey there Big,

we bought an '03 Suzy GV (no GB, a "GV"...). So only a small 4WD but
at least it's a real one with low range, not a 'soft-roader'. Just
took it through some boggy stuff in the Watagans that a bunch of hard-
core blokes in their souped up Landcruisers and Defenders said we
wouldn't get through... Straight through like it was nothing. :) I
    love it.

So what's going with your photography? I'm also a photographer - have
been doing it professionally for years. You are right - it's an
expensive hobby. The $$$ should all be put into lenses and a good
tripod, not necessarily the camera body. Anyway - enjoy yourself.
It's a great thing to do mate.

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Hey there Cam,

yes, the XX went for a great price ~ $11.5k including the Staintunes
and the Givi gear. There were some for $7,900 with similar kays but
mine was immaculate and the guy who bought it was both a good rider
and a very fastidious type. So happy it went to a good home. There
will be a day when I get another 2 wheeled machine... Rochelle enjoys
the pillion thing and in fact, our first date I took her on the XX
from Balmain to the Megalong Valley for breakfast at that great little
cafe in a paddock. On the way back, she said through the intercom...
"do you know that you've now spent 4 hours between my thighs?". Hehe
    - I *had* to marry this one! :)

As for the German rocket - yes, I still have it and recently accepted
an offer on it 2 days before the bloke's company gave him a
redundancy. So that's why I still have it! :)

Looking forward to catching up mate - maybe a day run to Road Warriors
    in it before Christmas???

    Cheers,
    Dave
