I have a pair of "proper" British Ashman motorcycle boots (pre Frank
    Thomas takeover) for sale.

They have been languishing in my loft and are brand new and have never
    been worn.

    Size 12 (47)
Black leather upper with a manmade walking boot type sole and
    synthetic lining.
High leg (just short of knee length).
    4x motorcross type buckle fasteners.
    Padded cuff in red.

Whilst not exactly the full-on MX-style uber boot, they are of a
substantial construction and should provide years of use.

    £40 + p&p

Is this a unisex varlet, or is there a varletesse option? She's a
    burd, see.
They will be if you dubbin 'em. My Para boots are completely
waterproof and of similar construction - but carry a good layer of
waterproof dubbin on all surfaces (except the sole, stupid). These
Ashmans have a big old sewn-in tongue that carries on up to the upper
shin level, so there isn't a way for water to get in - providing the
leather is waterproofed. The opening is on the outside, iyswim, and
closed by the buckley type things, so water being driven at the front
of the foot/shin is going to be deflected away in any case.
Fucknose, mate. It says 12 on the sole and they are fucking hyuuge.
They swallow my dinky size 10 feets, is all I can say.

    HTH.

    Are they stiletto or platform.

Ang on size 12? I could live in that.

And while we're on the subject why do some posters have these, how shall
    we call them, "witty" attributions?

They're not big and they're not clever. Well, unless you think a 3rd
form schoolboy who's learnt a new swear word is big and clever.

    This I can testify to.
I have had a pair that have outlasted four bikes, & three house moves
    & one marriage.
Urm, about 15 years or more.
And still going strong - if a little worn around the edges...

Thou art truly the Voice Of Reason.

OTOH, it could be that the rest of us simply aren't witty enough to
come up with a sufficiently amusing line, of course.

I mostly agree. I quite like Nige Eaton's "Mavis Bacon" one, tho.

    I do my best.
there is no level of wit in terms of intro text blocks that would be
    sufficiently amusing.

Go on, show me someone with a "witty" attribution block who's ever
    posted something worth reading...

**** me, you're not wrong. It's changed now, thanks.

Of course, knowing that it irritates Sweller, and darsy regards it with
    contempt is just a bonus.
