ok, i've had this bike a while and fancy a change, so...

it's a year 2000 black falco, first registered in france and derestricted
and imported by me. it's got 44000 miles on the clock but i'd say it was
in pretty good condition for its mileage, a couple of scratches but hasn't
been lobbed. has oehlins rear shock, rsv swingarm and chain, comes with
renegade carbon cans plus original boat anchors, black leather baglux tank
    cover, original rear shock.

i'm happy to go with whatever tog recommends for a valuation (or near
offer), i'm thinking ballpark 2 grand.

    anyone vaguely interested?

Hmmm... would you be interested in a 9R?

why not sell the 9r and use the proceeds to buy the falco?

Good point. And I've been tempted to get shot of the 9R anyway.

    Would you deliver?

i could ride it up to you but there would still be the question of all the
    spare bits.

probably the easiest would be for 2 of you to come down in a car, then
all the bits can go back in the car. i (or perhaps h, on reflection) would
happily sort you out with a square meal.

either that or we could try to deliver all the bits via the underground
    railway.

    Ah, of course.
That sounds like an excellent suggestion.
Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, eh? I'd need to sell the 9R
first, and IIRC it needs an MOT.

If I manage to sell the 9R before you sell the Falco then we'll continue
negotiations further, but don't hold on to it for my sake.

  10. It is a falco and you are thinking of buying it, you certainly don't
expect it to get there under its own steam do you?

Well, someone would obviously need to ride it, but apart from that I
don't see any reason why it wouldn't be capable of making the journey.

As long as dog pays more attention to his chain than I did on that one
    occassion, that is.

    "I snap-a the one-a chain..."

it's done a few runs between britain and the south of france without
any issues whatsoever. the only caveat would be leaving it alone for
long periods of time, if the battery is weak it might not start, and
floods the engine quite easily. this is true of all aprilias afaiaa,
you just need to use an optimate if you're leaving it standing for more
than a weekend at a time.

it does have a new battery and spark plugs so electrically it should
be as sound as any italian bike could be.
like i said it's an rsv chain and sprocket, maybe that makes a difference.

Oh, definitely. Another issue with a not-quite-strong-enough battery is
that it can cause a kickback from the engine, which results in a
    prematurely knackered starter sprag clutch.
Lovely. Did you go for the standard battery, or the slightly bigger one
that a lot of owners recommend?
Probably not. The snapped chain was purely down to laziness and
cheap-skated-ness on the part of the owner, not a fault of the bike at all.

i didn't know about the bigger one so didn't specify, ergo it is probably
    the standard one.
