Before it goes on eBay here's my K75

    http://www.sweller.dynalias.org/bmwk75s/

MOT until Aug 11, Tax until Feb 11, 52K miles, US import, stainless
exhaust, some history and plies of receipts. Does about 45mpg at my
hands so some room for improvement.

The gear change indicator doesn't work, L/H sidepanel clip is loose, R/H
luggage case has broken catch (locks it to the frame) and needs a new
seal - both parts cheaply available from Motobins - I haven't had time to
    fix it.

Starts, goes and stops - doesn't smoke rattle or do anything unpleasant.

Went to the Elefant and back no problems (except the clutch cable broke).

I'm looking for offers around £800.

eBay sales pitch and picture observations welcome.

Hmm... Maybe it would make sense to get a winter hack and hand the
    loaner back to Auntie Carole.

    Hmm...

  4. Heh. Mine packed in. You have to take the swinging arm out to change the
switch.... I had it done at the post-purchase major overhaul.
    No worries
    At £800 I think you're underpricing it.

You do realise that owning a BMW winter hack is only a short step from
getting pissed enough to decide that winter trips with the boys are a
    good idea?

Don't worry about this winter because I don't know if anyone's doing
the Elefant and even Sweller thought better of taking the BMW to
    Norway.

    So what's a fair price?

Surely you wouldn't want to rip him off?

  9. Had it been someone completely clueless, with no idea, and the
prospective seller knowingly offered a figure significantly under the
market value, that might be considered ripping him off.

On the other hand, Sweller, someone with probably more than average
experience of buying/selling older, used motorcycles stated a baseline
price. I don't see how accepting that price could be ripping him off.

  11. Quite. He might just be deranged, of course.

    <Thinks>

This is Sweller. What am I saying? Of course he's deranged.

    Oh FFS.

Look, subject to being able to get insurance organised at a sensible
    rate, I'm interested.

I don't want to overpay, and I don't want to rip anyone off. So, what's
    the fucking thing worth?

    You're right.

He should Ebay it and see what it gets to and if it's not gone over
£800 pull the auction and flog it to Nigel.

"Offers around" not "no more than" - although to be honest I don't have a
great deal of experience of BMW prices, hence the query a few days ago.

Although it scrubbed up quite nicely.

I usually use eBay completed auctions as the price guide.

Isn't it a bit early in the year to be lighting the fire in the living
    room?

Twice, except on my trip one RHS caliper bolt decided to stay in the
Fatherland and the another was about to join it.

    Hello stranger.

How do you fancy a day (or two) at Weston beach races next month? The
rough plan is to turn up on the Saturday, camp and get pissed
overnight, watch racing on Sunday and go home?
