    FOR SALE

    2004 Aprilia RSVR 1000 for $23,000 o.n.o

With 2000 kays on the clock and just had it's first service completed.
The bike is 3 months old and cost $27,500 on the road. It is silver,
unmarked and is spotless throughout. Registered until Feb 2005 and has
all log books filled out. I am located in Brisbane (South Side).
Reason you ask? Buying a house and need to pay for stamp duty and all
the other government fees under the sun.

Please give me a call if you or your friends are interested on
0410479742 any time of the night or day.

    Thanks

    Pete

20% drop in value for something that new... Strikes me as about fair.
Why would you pay $4500 more when yours would fall by $4500 as soon as
_you_ wheeled it out of the dealer? I know I wouldn't, and I doubt you
would either, irrespective of the brand name on the tank.

Mind you, the recently abounding rumours about Aprilia's financial
position might cause a few new models to enter the secondary market
right about now. So perhaps values will fall further.

Oh and where did he mention it was urgent? Not everyone lives week to week.

You can buy one with 0km on the clock but you still don't know how it's been
driven from new... the odo only tells you how many times the wheels have gone
    round.

What exactly do you expect him to sell it for? What he is asking is
more than fair. Yes, you could spend another $5k and buy a new one. I
bet most people who read this NG wouldn't.

You remember thats what HE paid new for it, I bet most people who read
    this NG wouldn't.
You would lose that $4k walking out the door with it rego'ed in your
    name.

Given the choice, i'd go the 2nd hand bike with 1000km's. I was always aware of the price drop, it still
scares the wallet regardless how much i think about a new bike/car. Perhaps in a few yrs. until then,
    second hand it is.

He's just savouring the moment... they don't stay new for long you know...
lose lots of value as soon as you ride the bike away from the tyre shop. :)
