Frozen clutch, stuck in gear

  2. There is the possibility that I mentioned before: that the previous
    owner installed heavy duty clutch springs. There are two ways to go
    about figuring out whether the clutch springs are stiffer than normal.
    One way is to take the springs to a motorcyle shop and have them tested
    on their valve spring tester and compared to a stock spring they
    happened to have in stock. The other way is to find out from the shop
    manual what the correct spring tension should be and physically measure
    the springs, count the free coils and use the spring rate calculator to
    see what the rate is on the springs you have now.
