    Why would this be different?

Anyway, about as off road as my driveway :)
Just opted for Bridgestone 020s so looks like my desert racing options
are ended for ever in nay case.

Nice expensive sports 125 thats what you want. One that would be good enough
    for Jehovah.

No, but I like to know what's going on, and see if I can improve my
    riding.

AFAIK, I do countersteer. I found at the weekend that I was
countersteering much harder than I thought I was.

Besides, I thought you *had* to countersteer to some degree to get the
bike to turn. I know you can lean to do it (from doing no-hands down a
hill) but it's a lot of effort for not much change in direction.

What you want is exactly the same bikes with exactly the same tyres to do a
    'fair' comparison.

I wonder if UKRM actually has anyone with exactly the same bike with exactly
    the same tyre.

    1) Front has a different profile to the rear.

    2) Steering head bearings are shockingly overdue some maintenance.

    3) Rear tyre flexes more, meaning a wider contact patch. Points
towards braking too much for corners and then gassing it out of them to
    speed up again.

    4) Something to do with the way I hang off. I half-remember a
discussion about this previously and this was mentioned.

    5) Other.

I wondered if it was me, the bike or the tyre. It's happened with
different kinds of tyre on the SV (010, AV45/46) and on the 955i (010,
    AV49/50).

The common factor is me. There could also be the front tyre is
generally smaller than the rear, but as the ratios are different[1] I
don't know how the different measurements would affect how the tyres
behave without doing a lot of reading.

But the bike's still leant over at the same angle, front and back
(hopefully). I can't picture how turning the bars would make the tyre
"more upright". Perhaps I'll have to think about this in the garage.
I can see a drunken wavy-hands session coming on.

I know, but I asked lots of similar questions, and that now seems to be the
answer I get to most things.

Generally, it's the correct answer ;-)

I'm guessing you've not ridden with Chris, correct?

He goes bloody fast enough with the current angle of lean... additional
    would just be overkill :)
