I've googled a bit, but no real conclusion.

What's the best front paddock stand?

I currently have a Scorpion rear stand, which is fine for swapping the
back wheel over, but I'd also like something to lift the front off the
    ground.

This needs to be something that I can use on an RGV250 and a ZX7R.

Surely that's not a good thing in a paddock stand?

I meant front stands in general, you tart. I think you should get over this
whole cautious approach thing and just buy the first stand you see. Don't
forget you are planning to take part in an activity that could result in the
complete destruction of both bikes so you might not even need a paddock
    stand at all.

True, but they are very good.
We have ways of dealing with that.

There's a few different sorts. The most common are
    1. those that support under the fork legs,
    2. those that support under the bottom yoke (by way of a bolt/pin fits
in the hole in the bottom yoke)

Type 1 are usually simpler and cheaper. On the down side, they're no
good if you want to take the forks out.

I'm not sure which type would be more likely to be universal enough to
fit both bikes. Harris stands aren't the cheapest, but they're pretty
good quality, and also pretty close to you. Might be worth giving
them a phone call and having a chat about it. They've got a fairly
    crap web site at www.harris-performance.co.uk

I am *not* dragging a paddock stand across the whole of the US and then

    yeah, I know.
thing is, this time last year, I'd have said "I'd never contemplate
taking the forks out", but I seem to have come round to the idea of
taking bikes to bits and putting them back together again.
cool - thanks for the tip - I wanted to talk to Harris about something
    else anyway.

I'm not totally convinved that if I did something that resulted in the
"complete destruction" of one of the bikes that I'd go out and have
another go on the other one.

    Though you might be right.

You are definitely right about there being lots of paddock stands on
eBay - I'd already noticed this, which is what prompted my original
question about which ones were any good.

I've never been a "buy the first one you see" person - I like to
deliberate for ages before making unsound purchases.
