  1. I can do that. I have this innate god given skill that allows me to
transmute cash into a pile of useless tat that was once a perfectly good
    working motorcycle.

It isn't necessarily his views I object to, it's the arrogant
tosserishness and inability to think of a world beyond London that
    annoys me.

Isn't the scientific community already well aware of you?

  4. Not the mainstream no.

Which I take as a personal affront as it goes. I think the matter of
research into me, the causes and effects of me and the commercial and
business spinoffs from a deeper understanding of me is far too badly
funded. And just don't get me started on their total overlooking of the
benefits to humanity of me either.

It's official policy in Sweden, IIRC. I suspect it's more of an
idealised target than a serious expectation, but nonetheless.

Agreed. He does have some good things to say, but it's a shame that
his persona gets in the way of them.

    OK, that's more like it.

Of course. It's worrying that politicians can make such statements as
serious intent, rather than an ideal situation as you can bet it'll
take hold here as well. I think it was linked to that Automatic Speed
Control trial which they seem quite keen on in Scandinavia.

Naturally. Even if the speed limit was 5mph and vehicles had speed
limiters there would be accidents. Notably, the world's first death
in a motor accident ocurred not far from where I live - the car was
doing reportedly 4mph, but certainly less than 10.

    World's first road death

On August 17, 1896, Bridget Driscoll, became the first road fatality
in the world. While the driver was reported to be doing 4 mph,
witnesses described her at being hit by a car travelling at
"tremendous speed". The crash occurred on a terrace in the grounds of
Crystal Palace in London. The car was owned by the Anglo-French Motor
Car Company who were offering demonstration rides to the public. At
the time of the crash, the car was being driven by Arthur Edsell, an
employee of the company, He had had been driving for only 3 weeks (no
driving tests or licenses existed at that time). He had apparently
tampered with the belt, causing the car to go at twice the intended
    speed
He was also said to have been talking to the young lady passenger
beside him. After a six-hour inquest, the jury returned a verdict of
"Accidental Death". At the inquest, the Coroner said "This must never
    happen again"
No prosecution was proposed or brought against the driver or the
    company

    Nothing much changes, does it.

Didn't people get run over by steam traction engines before then?
The current theory about King Tut is that he died in a chariot accident.

but isn't that always the rub; the authors are just like every other
intellectual with an opinion, they state it as fact and say that have
statistical data to prove it. Then someone else looks at the same data
    as says they're FOS.
Those of us who just want to read "global climate change is a 100%
fact" nod off after 250 words.
