I just had a call from Mildura. A man I used to work with always rode his
Kwaka 550 to work. He was killed today when a dog ran out in front of him,
he hit it and crashed and died of his injuries.

He escaped Hungary in the 1950's after more than a year as a political
prisoner. He saw his wife and child murdered. Started a new life as an
Australian married a nice woman and raised two fine daughters. Never had a
bad word to say about anyone.

He was going to retire next year. Christ, I reckon life can be cruel.

Bugger, it is always sad when you lose a friend. But as the man said when
your number is up, it's up.
    Condolences to all.

Bad news conehead, life can be cruel at times. We just hope that it all
averages out in time and at best we can it fickle.

Its not something we like to dwell on, but random shit like that can happen
to any one of us regardless of how good or how careful we are. Always hard
on those left behind, and I hope if it ever happens to me that my family
will remember I was doing something I loved doing.

Sounds like he had been riding for a while, so it was in his blood too.
Condolences to his family and friends.

I'm really, really sorry to hear about this tragedy Coner, and my thoughts
are with this poor guy's family and friends, such as yourself.

I like the fact that when one of us suffers a loss, the rest of the aus.moto
troops chip in with honest and heartfelt condolences, even if they don't
    know the people concerned.

What I don't like is the fact that we seem to be doing it a lot lately.

Yes, it can be. On the other hand he had a long life and found a second
    chance at love and family.

Remember that and smile for him.

We're all gunna go in the end. Life's too short to waste time on the
negatives. The positives are what it's all about.

I'm very sorry to hear about that Conehead.

Unfortunately life isn't always (or should that be "often"?) fair, and
bad things happen to good people too.

  20. Sorry to hear Conehead. Tragedies like this remind us that we are all only
human. And anyone else who has also lost friends to motorcycling would agree
with you that it is cruel and very unfair. Atleast where he is now he can
ride free with open roads and clear skies.
