Is anyone going down from Herts-ish area who wants to meet up and ride down?
I 'm going from Hitchin and am on the earlier boat. I have met a few here
but I'd like to know that I can put a name to at least a few faces before I
    get to Dover.

Ho ho fucking ho, you cunts.

I am taking the precaution of riding down (on the GTR) to Dover the
night before, so they can get the lane closures finished before you have
    to set off.

It's just occurred to me that it's entirely possible that I crashed last
year due to skidding on a pair of Cane's skiddies.

Is there a lawyer in the house

This year's model will be black.
The nice policeperson who went with me in the ambulance called me a
while later. She refused to believe I got away with the injuries that I
    did.

I didn't tell her about the brain damage.

I think we may already have taken on the mantle this year.

On the way home from the BOSM on a busy A1 ...

Mistake 1 - riding too close to the queue of cars tanking along in
front. Mistake two, when they all slammed on the brakes, grabbing the
front brake like an idiotic twat instead of easing it on like ... an
easy sort of person. Result - one locked front wheel, one bike sliding
    down the road.

Pat's fine - just a couple of bruises. I would also have just bruises
but for mistake number 3 - not fastening gloves on tight. One glove
came off about halfway through the slide. A few nice lacerations on
the left hand. I have to go back on Wednesday to see if I'll need any
skin grafts. In the mean time I'm making the most of having virtually
no use of my hands! The bike is well scraped on one side, but I hope
    that's all.

So - TOG, there's a spare double room and single bike ticket for next
month for whomever's next on your reserve list. And Kevin - we won't
be taking advantage of your hospitality after all.

I think a need a few practice emergency stops. Pat needs her head
examining - she wants the bike repaired so we can zap off up Weardale
    to Hartside like one does.
