heh - seems that way.

 

mine is currently one-and-a-half pages. i reckon the rest is none of
their business.

 

The long one I saw had *loads* of detail about all the jobs he'd ever
done. Needless to say, I didn't read it.

On a related note, I went for an interview last year. The guy
interviewing me was so shit it wasn't funny.

He kicked off with a question about my academic qualifications, which
I don't think are particularly relevant, but I thought I'd answer, so
I started: "I have a degree from the University of..." and he
interrupted me and asked me to start at the beginning.

I was a little thrown, so I just said "umm...10 GCSE and 3 A levels".
His response: "which ones?".

I was already getting a bit bored and annoyed, so I said "Oh, I can't
remember - English, Maths, French, Science, Music, History and some
others."

Then he asked me why I chose the A levels I chose.

By this time I'd decided he was a ****, and was so close to leaving
and telling him that he was wasting my time. Can't remember why I
didn't.

I'm up to 5 pages, I think - but all the irrelevant shit like O-levels,
rowing, motorbikes and whippet racing is on the last page, so can easily be
dispensed with

Seriously, IRL, I mostly am. I reckon with some well-chosen
abrasiveness I'd go a long way.

 

"All Lancashire Chess Champion" can probably be dispensed with, too.

 

he'd be best to leave in the stuff about being Junior Crown Green
Bowler of the year, though.

 

I was being completely serious in my statement above; I genuinely
believe you to be too polite for your own good.

 

dammit. That's what I was thinking of.

 

I must remedy it.

Maybe that's why I'm so nasty on here - to compensate. Well, the fact
that I find it funny is part of it.

 

obviously you can also be an obnoxious ****, but although I've never
worked with you, you definitely give the impression that you're too
fair and polite in a formal situation.

well, obviously.

 

Err, Ben, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you're not nasty
in here either :-}

 

I bet putting it in an envelope was a big part of that.

 

I once caught sight of a boyfriend's CV as he was about to post it off
- 11 pages! He let me redo it, got it down to 2, no problem. He got
the job.
