Well if it's just the weekend you could always ride down on the Sunday
or even Monday. You'd be missing the 'fest at our place, of course,
but at least you'd get to laugh at porl, who by the standards of last
    time will still be ill by the Monday :-}

For anyone else who fancies flying over for the Party (Sat 17th)
easyjet now fly direct to Basel, which is about twenty minutes from
our house. Prices currently running at ~£60 return from Liverpool,
~£100 from Stanstead for the most convenient flights (Arr Sat pm, dep
    sun pm).
    Heh.

Apparently I'm a 'variable cost' now and as such I'm to be hated and
reviled by all that is good in management.

This is what I'm currently considering. I'll have to tot up how much
holiday I've got left and see if I've still enough for snowboarding
    come christmas time.

    fucking busy, at a guess.

We're pretty fucking busy, and I'm in recruitment hell at the moment -
you wouldn't believe the mongs that expect jobs - some of them I'm not
even that keen on being the same room as.

On the plus side, I've just got a /female/[1] developers CV emailed to
me - she'll get an interview at least...

[1] though her covering note mentions she's "a very pleasant character
with a good sense of humor" - I presume this means she's a bloater.

The recruitment agent I used to hire our team is very good, and amazingly,
not a slimy ****. He never sent us a single muppet in the time we were
dealing with him. Let me know if you want his details.
Is she called Dawn or Rosie? If she is, she's definitely a chubber

We had a CV floating (electronically) around the office the other day.
I wish I could find it. It was, say, resume.jpg and was a scanned
image of one page of handwriting on lined paper, badly torn from a
    spiral-bound notebook.

    My ghast was flabbered.

unfortunately we've got two "preferred" recruitment agencies, and HR
won't let us use anyone else.
    heh.

I think I had an 8, a few weeks ago. I would struggle to write even a
five page CV for myself. It's just too, too dull. Should try it.

    good lad.
anything over 4 pages is too long, IMO - who cares what fucking O
levels someone with >10 years of IT experience has, FFS.
