Like it did this morning? It's looking a bit sad atm with a broken
clutch lever, broken footrest, broken seat unit and scuffed upper,
middle and lower fairing panels. The scuffed mirror and bar end weight
    are minor details.

I parked it on some concrete in the centre of our drive and after
about 30 seconds the stand dug in and over it went. There's a nice
hole in the concrete and closer examination suggests that the bit of
drive in question was probably laid by a pissed up clown in the middle
    of the night.

I'll replace the footrest and clutch lever and get the seat sorted
because the crack in it almost runs from side to side and it'll fall
in half at the slightest provocation. The rest can just stay as they
are because I really can't be arsed to fix it.

    Fucking arse.
Duck's nesting is the technical term, I believe. Bastard.
I feel your pain, mate. Ti-coloured gaffer tape is the only way, now.

    Oh bollocks :( Commiserations.
And I thought 10Rs were light sports bikes, not heavy lardy tourers! :)
Shouldn't be that much to send them off to get repaired/resprayed
should it? Would be a shame cause otherwise its in immaculate condition.

Well my brother's been over with a soldering iron and we've repaired
the crack enough to stop it spreading (I hope) so that should survive
having a tailpack strapped to it. I'd be happier about getting
everything repaired if I was confident that the colour could be
    matched.

  13. F**king bollocks Andy. Especially after you spent the last 3 years riding
the ZX9 with cracked fairing etc. Are you sure you didn't reverse the
company van into it? I wonder if you can claim of the house insurance?

I can claim off my own insurance because I've got protected no claims
but that doesn't help if the insurers refuse to offer renewal and
nobody else will touch you because you've made a claim. The fact that
the excess is £750 also puts me off.

I wonder if I can persuade Adie to let me claim she reversed into it?

Protected no claims is a bit of a con- it doesn't stop the premium being
loaded for having made a claim.

I know. You still have to admit to a claim if you change insurers and
the cunts offering the pnc have no obligation to offer to renew your
insurance when that time of the year comes round again.

I'll fix the essentials and just leave the rest. It's a bike and I'm
not going to start getting precious about motorbikes all of a sudden.

I'd have dived under it if I'd had a back protector on when it went
    over.

I think this might be worth thinking about. How much is car insurance
vs. bike insurance? Lot less, loss of a bit of NCB won't hurt nearly so
    much.

Do they not count *all* motor claims against you on both policies?
