I've got Scraggy and Hog stopping over on the Thursday night. Anyone
else coming down from the Frozen North who needs a bed for the night?
Plenty wineness and plenty foodness, if you can fight off a ravenous
Siamese that will stop at nothing in its bid to snaffle what's on your
    plate.

Would that invite extend to a loud mouthed northern **** such as myself?

  5. What did you say? ;-)

Yeah, sure. bring a bottle for The Doctor. She likes Bacardi and decent
white wine. Not mixed, obviously. Either/or.

  8. This may be an apposite time for a warning (hope I haven't done this
here already, I've been a bit distracted lately...):

Check your EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). The first batch
are expiring now; mine's been dead since 01/03 and I'm still waiting for a
replacement -- I can't go to CERN again until I get it. (As a non-European
I have to jump through a few hoops; UK citizens can renew online.)

I realised just in time last week and renewed online. They actually did
    arrive within seven working days.

That means you leaving him alone in your house. He'd have half the
contents on Ebay before your ferry had sailed and the rest would be on
trestles in the drive being sold for spot cash.
