  1. If it's like it has been for the last week, it's the Trophy and its foad
    fairing for me, I think.

    Girly man.

On the bright side, at least this year we'll be on the side of the
island with things to do if the weather gets bad.

The forecast for Paris is 30% rain (showers), all week.

We're going to get (potentially very) wet it seems.

I note though that Monday - Wednesday all look lovely. Typical.
Still, maybe it'll move through quicker and we'll get some nice
    weather. Maybe.

If it's pissing down as expected I'll be lucky to be lapping at all
after a 4.5 hour ride up from my place in the morning.

If it's pissing down, then I would expect you to stay at home :)

How reliable have you found those weather forecasting services to be?
Here they all seem generally rubbish.

It's only rain you know. Anyway, I thought you said those Azaro tyres
were really good in the rain?

That's entirely possible. I'm pushing it as it is, given that the
in-laws are over, so if it looks like it'll be a crap day out, I
prolly won't bother. Would be nice to see the mob again, but there's
    always another time.
Not used that one before, but I think that in general inland
continental areas are easier to predict for than maritime climates
like Britain. Most of the weather is already happening over land
somewhere not too far away, whereas in the UK much of it only occurs
once the weather systems come over land, IYSWIM.

So Fairly reliable, I'd say, although it's still five days off, so it
    may still change.

Heh. Last tiem I went, I remember a day when racing was rained off, and
so we got pissed at lunchtime and then someone thought it would be a
good idea to visit the Manx Cattery. So we did.

The only thing lapping at the ring on saturday will be the floodwater
    against the armco.

Ha! You haven't been to Sedan before then?

Just as well we're in a hotel so close to the town centre, or we'd be
stuck on the outskirts watching the rain in the carpark.

Oh, how bad... the Ring is great - but in the rain staying home is really
    not such a bad idea.

is my favourite for weather predictions. It is as accurate as any other
service, but as when rain is predicted, it is mostly correct. Or even worse:
If the rain is predicted for longer periods of time (and from now to well
into next week IS long) you can be sure it will be wet most of the time.

The Ring is still open, they do only close when the road is really flooded.
But be aware: this is very old tarmac, and really slippery in the wet. So,
it is really not a great idea to lap in the rain.
http://20832.com/?rubrik=wetter&lang=deu might be a starting point for a bit
    of looking around.

Sorry for the weather on your trip day, guys
    Ralf
