French Run Tally (for a modern bike)

Just phoned up my local Honda dealer to book the bike in for the following

16K service approx £300 [1]
new chain approx £100
Pair of tyres approx £250 [2]

I'm not sure how much an 06 CBR600RR is worth, but the work certainly
won't increase it's value by £700.

Wonder if I'd get a good deal trading it in without the work for a
sports tourer. Quite fancy the Sprint ST.

[1] I really don't like it when they draw their breath and say ooh
that's a big one, got to check the valves.
[2] I've had 4k out them and the front was definitely not right on the
last leg up through the borders, although that A68 to Jedburgh is almost
as much fun as the road to Angerville.

 

Well you could do it yourself & save probably £450+.

If thats a major service with shims don't complain.
Chain is about right.

Tyres....£50 over the top.

 

I've had a valuable lesson recently involving the fitting of some very
fine Oggy Knobbs crash protectors. Lovely kit, no drilling of the panels
required.

It took me two days.

Managed to round off one of the engine mounting bolts whilst undoing it.
Took an easy out and lots of swearing and puffing to eventually get it out.

 

Yes, but with fitting to a ride in bike and balanced. must be a decent place
in Edinburgh, shirly. Never a Honda main dealer though!

Anyway Don knows he want's an ST4S now. Actually mate there might be one
going for a decent offer around 2.5k. Someone you know. Who might have
inadvertantly changed the course of his life ;o)

And it handles even better than the yellow one.

That's assuming you wank left handed.
