    Cheek.

This is the route we took (in the end)

    http://www.salad.dodger.dsl.pipex.com/route.jpg

and this is the GPS log of it.

    http://www.salad.dodger.dsl.pipex.com/track.jpg

51.2 miles out of 239 - what more could you ask for?

This is the slightly iffy start.

    http://www.salad.dodger.dsl.pipex.com/start.jpg

At least it was quite scenic.

    Oh, by the way ...

    BANG! :)

I _told_ you they'd be OK. Glad you enjoyed it. Did you do the
trike-hire thang or go in the cage?

Sadly I'm far too busy at the moment with two presentations to write
before our week-long meeting next week (and I'm off from Wednesday),
the heating engineers in replacing the boiler and other bits of the
heating system, plus the builders relaying the terrace and finishing
    off everything around the pool.

I'll really try and do the autumn one.

Another good 'un. Cheers for organising TOG. And cheers for putting Sally
and I on the earlier ferry, so we didn't get held up by Dead Bloke like the
rest of you. Other trip highlights included:

    - 770 miles through three countries over the three days, all in glorious
    sunshine.
    - Actually managing a decent ride on the Saturday, despite copious
quantities of Affligem on Friday night.
    - Stumbling on some lovely Belgian villages by virtue of heading to
Rochefort instead of Rochehaut (about 20 miles in the opposite direction).
    - Some stunning twisties through stunning scenery.
    - TOG unsuccessfully trying to wind up various people on the trip, through
the use of engine oil (no TOG, it _won't_ soak in - still a big black puddle
in the car park when we left) and text messages.
    - Sally being fed more tomatoes than a ketchup factory, until she pointed
out to the hotel that she wasn't allegic to quite as many things as TOG had
    informed them beforehand.

So another Top TOG Tour under our belts. Roll on the next one.

    On Sun, 1 May 2005 16:20:16 +0100,
Arrived home last night at 9:15. After a beer and food I crawled into
    bed.

Great weekend (weather helped!). Four country run was the highlight
(solo run as everyonelse had gone by the time I'd got back from a walk
    into Sedan).

Thanks Neil to you and your missus for your hospitality last Thursday,
    much appreciated.

    Sincere apologies, Richard.

I didn't know, I forgot, a friend came in from out of town, I'm sorry.

I'm gonna be more fussy next time. We all got comedy Herta frankfurters,
whereas Sally got a nice fillet steak.

  8. Oh yes Indeedy :0 It was a good run out. The back tyre is now well and
truly fucked. A Michelin TK23 of 98 vintage with two plugs in it. Don't
Michelin tyres go shite when they wear down?

It was just the "Turn right!" and then "U-Turn" and
the "The GPS says that-a-way but the signposts say t'other!"
that were the causes of doubt.

He'd have been hiring in Switzerland. Seemed to have it all planned,
so I assume he has a source.
Ta; we'll see where it's planned for. It was a shame I couldn't make
this one, as the location was much further south and therefore more
do-able for me. let's see if the trend continues.
    Bwaahaahaa!

Eh, only three have been more northerly than Sedan.

Dunkirk, Chepy and St Quentin (only just)

Dunkirk, the most northerly, is only 150 miles north of Villedieu, the
most southerly, which is 75 miles further from Basel. [1]

In fact, I think V-l-Poeles is likely to be the one furthest from your
    front door.

I think the word you might be looking for is "east".

    Unless it's a weather thing.

[1] I know you don't live there, but that's the only point of
reference I do have for your starting point.
