These have now been circulated to those taking the Dover ferry.
My filed folder claims I sent my reg no. on 12 March. Just resent so hopefully you have just got it now. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Aprilia Shiver Yamaha WR250Z/Supermoto "Old Gimmer's Hillclimber" | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------------+
Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, ogden Oh, I hope not. You need a passport for Spain, don't you?
Someone will break down before the ferry Someone may not make it off the ferry Someones luggage will end up on the M20 or in a Fireball. Someone will be a petrol muppet Someone will get lost (usually me) Paul.
Might be. Do you think that'll be OK on the ferry? Anyway - I may have got to the bottom of the bizarre running problems - it appears to have been in the process of destroying a throttle cable. Those things don't just die overnight, right? Anyway, the RH one finally pulled out of the twistgrip linkage and in the process of the PM, it turned out to have a stray strand, which had been sticking into the liner of the outer, causing an intermittent jam. So, If I'm giving it WFO, but only the left carb is actually WFO and the right carb is just off tickover then strange things are going to happen. It obviously isn't going to pull properly and perhaps the occasional surging may be explained too. Then there was the backiring and ultimately the furnace in the silencer. It was also fitted with two equal length cables, whereas the right one should have been shorter - being too long, it will have been bent around more than intended, which has probably caused the premature wear. So a new throttle linkage is on order, with a cable kit: nobody has cables available as made up units, so it's a length of outer, a length of inner, a bunch of ferrules and solder your own nipples. The nipple soldering might be a challenge, as the cable is 1.7mm and the OD of the nipple only 3.0mm. Not much room for Mr Blobby.
