Not with a cunningly-wired in fag lighter under your seat, no. Never
    run out of matches, either.
Also dead handy for those cold Winter mornings when yer
Farmer's are a giving you some.

They rock - a mate of mine has claimed off them on virtually every
snowboarding trip he's been on. One stolen snowboard, one snowboard lost by
airline, one girlfriend shipped home with a broken leg. Easy to claim every
time, with no quibbles. Not the quickest to pay up for the kit, but they're
sooo much cheaper than everyone else with a similar policy. Oh, and they
cover you for off-piste snowboarding, which few do.

  3. Don't they kill it if you don't use it for six months or something?

Not on virgin mobile, set up to direct debit for your call charges, they
    don't.

I generally get by with about £2 a month bill, for those rare calls I
make that aren't done on my work mobile..

Working as a Travel Agent has its advantages. Even though I can get
BA Staff insurance cheaper, the cover provided by InsureAndGo is far
    superior.

For when someone nicks your shit/passport/clothing/purchases (theft),
for when you get arrested (Defense) or accidentally injure someone off
of your bike (Legal Liability) for when you get killed (Shipped back
to UK) for when your transport is delayed and/or you need overnight
accommodation (Delay cover) or everything goes **** and you need to
get back home sharpish (curtailment), and a million other reasons.

Thank you for taking the time to explain the differences - I really am
interested, and I wasn't intentionally being facetious. The word "merde"
of course stuck out like a sore thumb which was why I then tried
    translating the rest.

As for my attempt at translating Ginge's quote, it was really to see how
much French I could remember. I took french up to A level, but then I
bought a bike and dropped out of 6th form. My Mum was livid when I
dropped out, she wanted me to be a translator for the UN when I grew
up!(her dream not mine). Being forced to go to our French neighbours
house twice a week for extra lessons for 3 years put me off too.

Since then I've learnt a little Cantonese, Polish, German, Gujarati, and
Russian, but sadly, most of the things I remember now are swear words or
    insults.

Of course, Des's translation wasn't literal, but did have a more
colloquial feel to it. 'Merde', BTW, is much more commonly-used than
'shit' in English and isn't really thought of as a swear-word.

This last point is very true - when I needed travel insurance[1] I
always used the Ski Club's policy, which is one of the few to
    automatically cover off-piste.

[1] Swiss employers have to provide an accident insurance, which
    covers anything, anywhere.

    Legal cover on your insurance, or AA/RAC membership. Or just deal;
with it, as you would in the UK.
Well, that's really likely, and obviously much more important if
    you're abroad.
let some other fucker pay for that,
So you have to change your ferry/tunnel crossing? Wow, that's gonna
    cost you, like, loads.

Same on my Orange one. It's only the PAYG ones that expire after nine
months of no credit (in France at least).
I never look at my statements, but it probably averages about that at
    most.

Personally, I wouldn't be without an annual policy, but that's because
I'm away so often without much/any warning. It's handy to have and is
    fifty quid well spent, imho.

Lozzo emerged from their own little world to say
If you remove the red bit of plastic on an optimate plug it fits the BMW
socket. Same with many of the male plugs that come with accessories.

You can get a socket adapter very cheaply from a John Deere tractor
emporium for a couple of quid. This is ideal for phone chargers as they
rarely have the removable red bit.

    So :p
