Being the tail enders in joining the Tour ferry times available were pretty
useless, early 0900's out and late back. We have therefor elected for the
Gentleman's Magic Carpet that is the channel tunnel (which I prefer and
    Blondie hasn't tried yet).
Leaving from Chez Tog with the rabble we head to the 09:50 MC departure
which should put us in France around the time the main group 10:05 ferry
limps from port sporting a 40degree roll and an open bow door.
Is there already, or can we agree a meet up point in the Calais vicinity? I
believe some Runners are on the next (10:50?) ferry too, we could hold back
    half an hour for them.
For those that have never paused in the vicinity Calais isn't the utter shit
hole one might expect, the original main street has a few nice cafe's and
the (surprisingly clean) beach on the South side of the harbour mouth sports
a fine view of the PO/SeaFrance ferries playing a fairly advanced game of
    Chicken.

Waiting? Meeting point? You're new to this, aren't you?

From the ferry, it's usually every man for himself, preferably in
    different directions.

Things are going to be very different this year, though.

It looks like it's going to be dry, for a start.

Details man... Details what cafe / street / rue, it sounds good becuase
Spete is going to meet us in Calais so would be nice if a few of us could
meet up. We are intending to do the D940 / D925 route along the coast

For those of you that need directions here they are to the nth degree

As soon as I leave the Ferry I'm planning to follow my StreetPilot to
the hotel. I'm trying to get there on one tank of petrol, plus I've
got a front & rear tyre that have just four miles on them (I can
probably think of a hundred other excuses for being slow, with or
without unlimited petrol and old/new tyres) so I'll be taking it easy
on the way there, whereas a lot of the mob will be there within the
    blink of an eye.

The time was the default setting but you knew that Mr Pedantic, dunno
exactly what time we'll dock, it's generally a 90 minute sailing (ish) and
we are departing at 10:00 (ish) + 1 hour for local time I would guess at
    12:30 (ish) local time

I'm leaving Hatfield Heath at 07.30 and don't have a fucking clue
where I'm going, other than the Kent coast.

Keep an eye out for a Silver Fireblade, black luggage, green cammo
ruck sack, yellow & black paddock jacket and a chrome lid.

    That's me that is.

How about if we meet you in Sangatte? Looks like a tiny place - we
could meet where the D243 hits the seafront. Then do the coast road
over Cap Gris-Nez. Or, of course, you could go with Monz and Spete.
We're not planning to join them as we intend to hit the motorway at
Boulogne, head straight down to the hotel and have a wander through
Dieppe. We've done the coast road once south of Boulogne - hated it.

My mobile is zero seven seven zero three one six four two three four.
I'm emailing you further details, but we're leaving here around
    lunchtime today.
