The one that's only just come into place, it's perhaps worth pointing
out. There seems to be some sort of assumption that it's the nasty
froggies being different, when in reality it's just that they've had
their own system for years and it's only now the rest of Europe's
catching up, and implementing a standard system, that there's any
    reason to change.

well, recently rather than "only" just, and the spec has been
    available for ages.
I am aware of this. I wasn't intending my statement above to be a
criticism of the French - in fact, I'm astonished they're moving so
    quickly on it!

To be fair, the system that is being put into place was developed by
the French. This is the v2 system. More secure than the old one.
Because they already have the system in place, it's a case of changing
    over the cards.

**** knows, Calais...left a bit along some road, then right, then god knows
as i was relagated to the back because my bike is noisy and the wimps could
not hear there radio's and stuff.

I remember coming back into France from Ostend, but no idea where, just
    playing
    follow my leader.

  11. Six or seven of us tried doing that on the last French Run. we found a
willing Frog, but even his card glitched in the machine, several times.
It took about 45 minutes to get all the bikes filled up, IIRC.

I wouldn't bet against it. I guess that's why he prefers iBikes. The
iFuel consumption must be pretty iMpressive.
