I recently purchased a new motorcycle and while it seemed I got a fair
deal on the base price, I feel like the freight charge was a little
high. Just wondering what some of you have been charged for freight
and setup on a yamaha R6

I may have purchased an R6 but that doesn't mean Im going to be
tearing up the streets. I have a buddy's 250cc ninja and will be
riding that for a few months and already signed up for the riding
course. Guess Im an impulse buyer and couldn;t pass up the deal I
got, so with all the insults outta the way , Ive heard the freight and
setup costs run pretty high around here any info on that?

Europe and Japan have their heads up their asses.. and you're right there
    with them.

  4. The lesson to be learned here is that one should negociate the out-the-door
price rather than the base price. In the end, it doesn't matter for what
the various charges are claimed to be as the total is what you pay.

I am certain that some find dealers' use of freight and setup charges to
disguise a higher total price despicable, but caveat emptor is the rule as
long as the dealers are not breaking the laws of the state in which they're
    doing business.

Basically, all that matters is the total you have to shell out, though
you may be better off to pay more "freight and setup" and less sticker
because those items aren't subject to sales tax.
