I know advertising is frowned upon but I thought someone might have a use
for 50-70 used scooter (10"-13") and various bike tyres? All well used
(obviously) and bald to different degrees of baldness but if someone wants
to build a strawberry fence (fill the buggers with compost and plant in
them) or runs a mini <spit> moto track or kart track then they might be of
    use.
Saves me filling them with avgas and rolling downhill alight into the
    nearest pikey encampment :)
Er..01933 443430 if you want to claim them.

Lol! Hmmmmm I did have some strange comments when posting on a forum a while
ago asking for a second hand Polaris.

Maybe they thought I wanted the nuclear capability and not the snowmobile
    engine?;-)

Hang on, I'll go measure it.

    <pause>

There are two sections of the table, without the extension bit that
fits in the middle to err... extend it. When assembled the table is
1.6m long x 970mm wide. The six chairs fit easily round this.

If you have no joy passing them on here, try freecycle, works a treat.

Don't you need a big chair, a medium size chair and a small chair?

Just up the road from me there are 4 Magnox reactors now surplus to
requirements, and about 25,000 tons of rubble that were 4 cooling
    towers until 9.00 this morning...

Yeah, a major local landmark gone for ever - unlike the rest of the
complex, which will take 60+ years to clear, and won't be usable for
anything else for up to 200.

You say it like that's a bad thing.
It will provide generations of reasonably well paid work and in future
might host a new plant. Dounreay is still employing lots of people to
de-commission who went there for their first proper job in the 80's.

You have to be brain dead to work there and live in Caithness for 25
    years mind.

I admit of course to believing that 50% or more of our electricity
    should be generated by Nuclear.

Intended as an observation only, but it did read rather negatively. A
new plant is an ideal use for the site; one that can achieve better
than 19% efficiency would be good. Of course, power generation was
originally only a side benefit of Chapelcross's operation.
In the absence of better technology, I am not entirely in disagreement
    with you.
