Thats even worse when cold. Also it's not a wide spray, more like a dribble

Don't talk to me about those twats.

I went in to buy some leather troos today. There were 2 pairs on the
stand, both the same make and model name. The pair I wanted was
labelled as £179, the other (larger, so no good) at £129.

I queried it, and she hiked the price of both of them to £179.

Invitation to treat, my arse ;)

And there is now a bottle of it sitting on my desk, thanks. Slightly worried
that it says water soluble on the bottle.

I'll be scoring a bottle tomorrow.

On an HG tip, I noticed last night that they're selling off the last of
the Cruise GTX textile suits at 350 quid for the set, down from about
    550. The bod in the Stockwell branch knew nothing about the discount but
I picked up the jacket and pants online instead.

    That'll do nicely.

Unless you're too, ahem, solidly constructed to fit into a Cruise II
and have to make do with a Master V instead.

Credit crunch? - eat my shorts.

Ouch. That's, like, a 500 quid premium over what I just paid.

It is a really nice piece of kit, mind. Honest. Worth every penny.

As Linda kindly pointed out "it's probably the last one you'll ever
buy, so why not splash out?"

They do it in day-glo, but I went for the plain black.

Bib attachment- storm collar thing that covers across the front? If
that's what you mean I've got that on my 3 year old HG jacket. Fucking
good thing, really helps when the weather's bad.

Prudent-schmudent. The only time I've used day-glo stuff was in my
teens when riding without er.. license, insurance, tax, mot was
de-rigeur and my thinking was "if I wear this Sam-Browne belt there's no
way they'd think I'm illegal... or drunk". Allegedly.

If he referring to what I think he is, he means the detachable bit from

Gives an extra bit of warmth and waterproofing.

When I first got a moped my mum made me get a sam browne belt thing. I
wore it once, felt a ****, had the piss ripped and never wore it again.

I think he's refering to the detachable storm collar that zips to the
front of some Gericke jackets - it gives an additional velcro'd at the
side higher collar that won't let water in at the neck. My Gericke
jacket has one, my Gericke trousers also have the very handy and warm
    detachable salopettes bib.

Hmmm the high collar on their PVC jackets are more comfortable and
    waterproof IMHO

Cobblers. I've ridden through the most attrocious weather with my
Gericke kit and never found them uncomfortable or leaky. They still
perform as well as they did 6 1/2 years and many thousands of miles ago.

The PVC kit doesn't breathe like Shelltex or Goretex, so within 10
miles you end up smelling like what I can only assume Auvache's undies
    would do.

Precisely. I've got an excellent one-piece HG oversuit but I get so
sweaty inside it I might as well just let the rain in - I end up damp
    anyway.

Hence the 350 quid on some decent kit.

Pah. Leaky old textile shite. And it cost me £75 to make my nice leathers
    completely waterproof.
And I don't seem to get sweaty or smelly in them either TYVM.

    I get off my bike.
