Free off-road holiday anyone?

    Ok. I admit its:

    (a) a bit early; and
    (b) only available to people I know/trust; and
    (c) not exactly free as you'd have to sort out getting here.

But the off-road rental business looks like a goer and I'm looking for
voluteers who might fancy a free holiday in, say late October/early November
(it was still in the high 20s/low 30s last November here) to try out my
ideas for off-road holidays for novices/those who just want an easy off-road
experience and see what yous lot think.

    Details:

    S/W France.
    DR-Z400-E
3 or 4 ukrm-ers, preferably with very little or no off road experince, maybe
one who does know as expert advice.
I provide bikes and accommodation, you provide yourselves and own beers
    (ish)
Time will be minimum 3 days, excluding travel
At some point from late Oct/, but probably in November.
Airport pick-ups very possible if you arrive together
Must have had full licence for more than 1 year
Travel insurance preferable - you fall off and hurt yourself, it's your
problem - I'll be worried about my bike(s), not you
The final announcement of dates may be short notice (i.e 3-4 weeks) and I
can't say for definite when it'll be yet due to other commitments, so don't
ask if you need to give your boss 2 months notice of a holiday

It *is* still early, but I'll be drawing up a list, on a first come, first
served basis if anyone wants to help me out with what is, basically market
    research..... Ish.

    If you don't know me, don't ask - I can't take the risk on people I haven't
met - *unless* you're vouched for by someone else who I do know who would
    also be coming.

Varying wieght/size people would be good - from Lozzo to WUN, that kind of
    thing.

Anyway, e-mail me on ozrider2001 at hotmail dot com to be put on the list
and I will get back to you in a week or so, once it's a bit clearer.

Guess you're in the clear as we haven't met :). It probably wouldn't do
your business any good if you let me near your bikes before the grand
    opening anyway...

If thats the case why did you post here?

And do you feel comfortable with the fact that people who cant even stay on
a road bike, are very likely to trash your off-roaders on anything but the
    very easiest of going?

Who are these people that can't stay on a road bike, then?

Given the number of years he's been on one, it's not a bad record.

BGN is the closest we've had to a serial crasher in recent times, as
even you seem to have given it up.

    "even me" Cheeky bugger.

I've been riding for umm... 26 years or something. I've had plenty of
accidents, sure, but I think the last one where I broke something was
four years ago. Before that it was I think seven years ago.

I've been doing circa 20k miles a year for the last three and a bit
years and have avoided any accidents... well excepting one about three
years ago where I braked to avoid a car that swerved into my path on a
greasy motorway but since there was little damage I don't really count
    that.

    Hmm. I suppose that's a bite.

Read the past posts and you will see nearly all of them have had pretty
stupid accidents, that could have been easily avoided with a bit of skill
    and thought!

Wonder how you would get on riding a heavy trail bike in difficult going?

Given I ride large bikes through country lanes on a daily basis
regularly squirming around on shit and grit and have fucked around with
the likes of DT175s in my youth I'd suspect that I have plenty to learn
    but have relevant background.

I am a relatively competent rider. And modest.

But, more importantly, why do you ask given that I haven't expressed any
    interest in doing this?
