    wisdom:
Hey, on a completely different subject (well, not really), I saw your
name published in a certain custom magazine yesterday. I think it was on
the same page as the one advertising Faro 2006.

Are you going to be there?

I'd like to go and want a bit of "dragged through the mud, naked, by a
rope on the back of a Harley"

    The last one looked rocking.

    You did?

Faro's a good rally, but to be perfectly honest I'm completely bored
with the whole rally scene - especially as the average rally these days
is nothing of the sort and is little more than a party in a pub ... and
    that's not a fucking rally!

Yep, but having just checked it's not the Faro bit, it's the WKWYDLS
    video.
Yep, I saw the BSH teaser vid you did. That looked proper, that did, and
had proper dirty bikers and everything. It looked like a right laugh!

How did you get there, ride down or ferry?

Cool. If it happens for me this year I think I'll take the ferry to
Spain and ride the last 1000 miles or however far it is.

I might even get away with not taking a change of clothes!)

It's only 1550 miles from the M4 to central Faro.

    UK: M4, M25, M26, M20, A20 to Dover > Calais
    France: A26, A1, A3, A10, A63, E5, A63, A8 > Spain
    Spain: A8, A68, A1, E5 past Saville, A49 to Portugal
Portugal: E1 for a few miles and you've arrived.
It's amazing what one can fit in just a tank bag.

    Is that all!?

    Fancy coming?
There's also the option of buying stuff when you're there and just
leaving it behind when it stinks but I think I'd be out of place if I
    was well groomed.

    I don't do camping. :)
T shirts, pants and socks don't take up much space, neither do
trousers and jeans so you can take al oad of cheap and/or tatty stuff
with you and just dump it as and when needed to make room for fags on
    the way home.

It's a little more than that. The first time I did it, it was 1610
from Faro to Calais. I did it in 20 hours 10 minutes.
Or, more usefully: follow: Paris, Orleans, Bilbao, Madrid, Seville,
    Faro.

    Easy.

So buy loads of speed and stay awake for the week.

The ride home will be awesome!
I don't wear pants and one pair of jeans is all I need. I'll want at
least two changes of socks though.
