I was going to head up the A5 for a while, but on the grounds that I have
not been before, have not really looked at a map, and do not know where I
am going I would be as well to follow you, I was aiming to leave around
    11:00ish from my place.

The A5 was my return route last time:
    A5 - A444 (to Burton) A511 - A515 (to Ashbourne) although in reverse.

If you're loaded up for camping, this would probably be the better route.

Where do you want to mmet? I suggest either the services at Junction
15A of the M1, or if you want to come down the A428, we could find
somewhere on the outskirts of Northampton (or if your navigation skills
are good, I could give you directions to my house.) Any of those is
    fine by me.

If you want to drop me an e-mail, I'll give you my contact details.

Yeah, I bought a XXXL a few years back so I could wear loads of layers
underneath. Now the arms are leaking in it I've bought a summery type
    waterproof jacket to wear underneath.

There is no back of the bike :)

I'll get it on there somehow.

Yeah. I do the ride up to Melton quite often.
The only unpleasnat bit was the Nottingham ringroad where I lost count
    of the junctions..

Straight up the M1 from London. I'll bring a courier bag with me, I'll
be surprised if I can't get it in there.

Should I just pick it up from you at another time?

I'll have to carry it one way or another and I'd rather carry it back
    than there.

I can bring it with me (it is a pannier already) but if you are heading
back down the M1 grab it on the way back on Sunday if that helps?

  17. Well we went round the edge of Derby via their ringroad instead. I have
done the Nottingham ringroad and would agree that it is not the best
    option.
Not all the time you weren't!
