    Best Western looks OK.

Anyway, I've just "endurance tested" the CD - 80 mile round trip to
your place/leisure centre - absoluetly faultless performance.

Sounds like a series Land-Rover he was describing.

It is indeed! Which reminds me to ask. With it's MOT is it legal to
separate the combo and ride the bike, assuming you fix a signal light
    to the left hand side?

It would be intersting - the frame usually takes a bit of a 'set' with a
chair fitted and can make for intersting handling when it's removed...

Good-oh. I'm pretty sure that mine will be okay. The clutch is
slipping a bit though - what causes that? Should I get it sorted before
    the run?

Fucked clutch plates, knackered springs, engine producing too much power[1]
    Yep.

    [1] Yea right

mine does too, if you let the clutch out too slowly - it never slips
when you haven't been near the clutch i.e. just under acceleration.
depends on how bad it is.

    Overtight cable?

    From experience:

    sticky slave cylinder; notched lifter mechanism; dirt in the fluid;
blocked return hole in reservoir; loose slave cylinder.

None of which are likely to apply to the Seedy.

  13. On a Benly, it's more likely to be a knackered (ie: sticking) cable or
    badly adjusted clutch.

bizarrely, for a list of bands from *you*, I actually have a recording
by one of the above artists...

Well it didn't make much of a difference when I tried it, but then the
Jawa doesn't really come with great handling anyway. Next spring I will
give it a good overhaul. Found a place I can get the frame coated and
am thinking of a new colour too.

Three of those are practically chart music, ffs.

Not the Top 40 chart, mind.
