Aah, bollocks. I've just thought about this and it was a 71/2 tonner
    we used for that.

You'd still get six in a Luton-bodied van though.

  2. If I can't get a 200cc bike (or a 250cc with fat bastard dispensation)
for the trip, I'll drive the 'Crew Van' if you want a volunteer.

A normal SWB Transit type van will only take 3 large bikes/riders
comfortably, or possibly 4 smaller ones. A decent van like a LWB
Mercedes Sprinter would quite easily take 5 smaller bikes and the riders
in the back. As pip said, a Luton bodied Transit will quite happily take
10 smaller bikes. We had 5 of my bikes plus shitloads of my personal
posessions in one when we moved my gear back to Bedfordshire.

I dropped out on the basis of it being in November. If it's in the
spring, then at least I have a winter project.

Put me down as a "probably". <flau>

I'd like to come along on the CB250RS, but only as a kind of spectator,
I wouldn't want to count in the final tally. I believe Sean isn't too
keen on bikes over 200cc being officially included, and I can't see his
point. Having said that, the poor old CB has done shitloads of miles and
is pushed to top 80mph downhill, even with the *new*[1] engine
    installed.

Spring-time would be even better for me, because it's a bit hard to get
    time off work right now.

[1] New to me, it's still a 1980 engine when all's said and done

  7. Yeah, but with a bloater like you in it, there's no room for the bikes,
    is there?

Obviously, you can choose any route for this race but when Sean and I did
the run last year it was all on the motorways. Afterall why would you want
to miss the joys of filtering on the Brussels Ring?

I'm hoping I'll be able to make it subject to:

    a) buying a bike
    b) having the time to get it prepped
    c) having the time to do it
If a-b fail I *might* come on my Beemer. Of course if c fails... you'll
    all be in luck.
Anyone thought about taking the Harwich-The Hook crossing? I'd have
suggested Sheerness to Vlissingen but unfortunately Olau line closed
that about 10 years ago. Lovely crossing.

A beer to the person who coins the best term.
It's: "we'll think of a reason to allow anything as long as you're not a
****". But it shouldn't stray *too* far from the original philosophy.
I should be picking mine up from Swift Motorcycles on Saturday. So
    soon. Possibly.

I've got a lot of time off work in December...
    .... that too.

For this reason I would vote for it to be allowed. Plus, you're pretty
handy with a spanner. We're going to need your sort, I reckon.
You'll have one of the faster machines. No tearing off ahead, now.
Maybe I'll do a recce, in preparation for the main event.
