I had a lot of fun on an RD200 one summer (1981 IIRC).

They were light, fast and handled well. OK, they were 50cc smaller than
the 250s but the lack of weight helped a lot.

The engines were (IME) pigs to work on because of the way that the
crankcases split (vertical 'joint' between cases rather than
    horizontal).

So, if I was in the market for a small two stroke[1] I think I'd go for
the RD250 or 350 and not the 200. I had a great summer and have a good
memory (which ended with the bike gearbox dying and never running right
again). I'd hate to take on a bike that's nothing but trouble now and
    compromise the memory.

I also had good times on an RD350B but I think that's more likely to
    live these days.

[1] I think Frankfurt is a job for a honda fourstroke of some kind.

That won't be a problem. Most of us are rough numbers.

Except the CB250 is too big and too suitable. Making an RD200 *the*
    ideal choice.

Because if the wankers can be persuaded away from Outlook Express, or
whatever other shite they use, there's no need for tinyurl.

I see the .com where you've cropped it, but why there? What details have
you chopped. I also see that the thread view has gone etc. etc.

I posted a URL directly to the messageID in question, rather than to
the pointer in the thread that was generated from a particular search.
Actually, if I'd left off the http:// and just started with www it
wouldn't have wrapped at all. You can get back to the thread in
question from a single click from the link I posted.

You can do this with any google reference. Similarly, Amazon URLs can
be fair drastically shortened if you know how. eBay ones, I don't know
about, but I'm sure something can be done.

The 'selm' is the identifier for the article in the database. Anything
else is window dressing and can safely be dropped.

  17. ebay ones are easy, but not much can be removed. For example, this item

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2442669236&category=30220

    can be referenced with

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2442669236

which should only wrap if you're on some godforsaken 40 column
    mode teletype thing.

Cool, ta. Popped along this morning for a look-see. Sounds OK (i.e. not
like a bag of spanners), though it's not been run for a bit, so some of the
control cables are a bit stiff, and the rear disc has a touch of surface
    rust.

I'll probably go back on Thursday and take it for a spin.

Tyres are scarily skinny, mind ...
