Presumably in the same charts as Hasslehoff had no.1s, so we
    can safely disregard the kraut.

Backs up what I originally said though!

By modern standards they're crap. Don't go, a power band the width of a
gnats todger and no brakes to speak of. Having said that they're cracking
fun to ride in a 'nail the fucker everywhere' kind of way.

I paid 300 quid for mine, 15000 miles on the clock and a shed load of old
MOT's to back it up. It's tidy with all original bits and very little rust.

The RS does about 70 flat out but max cruising speed is about 55-60, the RD
should be about 5-10 mph faster. I've done a couple of hundred miles on it
with no problems but even if it does go bang most things could be fixed at
    the roadside [1]
That one's been in a while as I saw it when I was looking a few weeks back.
If it's not been rebuild by a monkey that could be a cracking furt bike.
The pipes might grate after a while and it's a bit pricey IMO.

[1] You could replace the pistons in less than an hour with about 3 tools.

    Oh stop whingeing Gimli.

You probably spent more time digging up that google reference, then I did
    finding the original again.
And use fecking tiny.url will you!

Hey, play to your strengths, my granny told me.

Anyway, have you molished the mount for the MG42?
Fortunately not. C'n'p into the search box and hit the tit.
    Is that better?

Do you know, I deliberately posted that url in full because I knew
_your_ reader would cope with it - Peter's response was perfect ...
and yours: well, all I can say is that MWHID.

What's the problem with tinyurl, *if* it has an explanation as to where
it goes. e.g. amazon link, ebay link or google group link and the like?

I accept that a blank posting with a tinyurl link is simply asking not to
be clicked but is there another issue?

It really is a pain in the arse to manually rebuild wrapped and quoted
    links

OI! They're classics that haven't been recognised as such yet.

simonk said.... RD200s are OK, but the 125 was sweeter bike to ride imo. The 125 was
alot less stressed and isn't plagued by the god-awful dynastart system
that fucks up on all of them.

It's an RD, therefore an electric start has no place on it.

Which is why I use a newsreader which doesn't dismantle long URLs. And
why I encourage others to do the same.

It's certainly a good move, the brushes wear badly and this can leave
you stranded at the roadside when they get too bad, as mine did. I know
the lads at Bill Bunn's, they do know their RDs cos the young lad there
drag and sprint races an RD400, he started with a well tricked RD250
    IIRC.

The RD125 didn't have the Dynastart like the 200. I'm considering
borrowing my daughter's semi-restored 1982 RD125 twin for this trip.
Sounds like it could be fun to get back on a little smoker for it.
Pretty much everything is available from Yamaha dealers should you need
them. The liklihood of needing a new barrel is remote, a rebore usually
suffices, for which pistons of all sizes are readily available. You'll
be able to pick up spare barrels if you need them from the RD Forum that
Mike Buckley subscribes to. I used to subscribe to it, but I grew up and
sold all my RDs and spares.
