I am planning to take the wife on our first excursion to France - hopefully
one of many. Can anyone recommend a bike friendly hotel somewhere between
Monet's Garden in Givernay and the Palace of Versailles? Anything 2-5star
    considered.
    Thx in advance

Any Logis will do, believe me. I think you can get a booklet sent to
you via the internet for nowt, and a Logis is well recommended.

SP emerged from their own little world to say
I'd go with a Logis myself. Every one I've stayed in has had a good
    restaurant.

    website here: http://www.logis-de-france.fr/uk/index.htm

You used to be able to get the paper guide for free from
    http://uk.franceguide.com/commandebrochures/?z1=v12ij1rV but they are
charging P&P now. Only 3 quid and you can order others for free.

    http://www.gites-de-france.fr/eng/index.htm has the nearest equivalent
    to French B&B

If they are full then you should be able to find a room amongst the
Accor chain. I tend to use the Ibis ones as they are often in central
locations rather than industrial areas. Fine for an overnight stay but
little character if you are using them as a base for a few nights.
