Frame tank enamel

Discussion in 'Classic Motorbikes' started by dominic killian, Dec 29, 2003.

  1. Hi group. looking for advice for home spraying old frame and tank. Have the
kit but not to sure where to get the paint (previously used cellulose for
old cars). Hoping for the deep black look of the older bikes. Internet
supplier or local (Gloucs UK)would be great and any tips for prime type etc
    greatly appreciated!

    thanks in advance

  2. If you are doing this at home use cellulose you can still by this in
Cheltenham on the kingsditch trading estate opposite the municipal dump, I
think the place is called Browns, it's at the end of the road on the right
    hand side.
When spraying the frame use primer first then several thin coats of top coat
followed if you want by a coat of clear lacquer, if you put to thick a coat
    on it will chip.
