It's a wonderful thing this internet. With the help of people I have never
met, I was pointed to a French and German Sites, which both had info of
Frame Numbers and Bike Years for most Suzuki's including my Kat.

The vehicle Examiner accepted this evidence with no problems and a couple of
minutes later produced a Pass Certificate for the bike. Just been and got
the bike registered. It's still on a Q Plate which is a shame.

Next job is to get it insured. Hopefully my present Insurers will take it on
as an additional bike to my Z1000.

Anyone had experience of insuring a Q-Plater or a bike that's a little bit
    different from the norm?

    I had a Harris on a Q plate in the mid/late 80s. And I'm fairly sure
I was insured, too. Don't recall having any problems, but the world
has revolved a few times since then.

Champ bored us all completely to death with wittery prose along the
    lines of:
I don't think he'll have any probs in insuring, but IIRC, some InsCo's
    up the premiums.

That's good news, as thats whom I'm insured with at the moment. £210.00
fully comp, only two years no claims on a 2003 Z1000, thats less than half
of what I was paying last year.

Axa don't do multi bike policys and Motorcycle Direct, my brokers, don't
    touch Q-Platers :-(

Phoned up AON who insured the bike last (the previous owner gave me a whole
host of documents with the bike) and managed to get fully comp insurance for
    £165.00!

Bike should be on the road on Monday - at last.
