Frame and engine numbers on a Yamaha Thundercat?

Can anyone advise me of the location of the frame and engine numbers on a
    Yamaha Thundercat?

I'm going to look at one tomorrow and would prefer to know where to look
rather than have to hunt for them if the owners manual isn't available to
point me in the right direction.

    FFS.

Look first for the frame number to be stamped on the headstock, and the
engine number to be stamped somewhere on the crankcase. When you find
out exactly where the numbers are, would you be so kind as to let the
group know where you found them? Ta.

ITYF that's rarely the case, all the bikes I've owned (2 from new) have
had different engine and chassis numbers.

Yes, Ginge. That'll be one number on the headstock (the frame or
chassis number) and the other on the crankcase (the engine number).

IME that's where they'll be - the engine number commonly stamped into
a raised plinth above and beyond the clutch cover.

You could try googling for Mike Buckley's email (he's posted on here
within the last week IIRC) and see if he knows.

    Thanks all.

I only asked because the only time I've had cause to look for them in the
past was on my SRX and as thats an unfaired bike they were fairly easy to
    spot.

Where most of the bike is buried under a load of plastic I thought they may
be in different places that would make them easier to spot IYSWIM

Although I have a bike where the frame number is on a frame rail at the
back under the seat. Which is the first place the MOT chap and I thought
    of looking.

  9. Headstock for the frame number but can't remember where the engine
number is (though the suggestions on here are probably accurate). Don't
have the Cat any more (*sob*) so can't check.

The Cat MSN group is pretty useful:
